So it’s that time of year again when we go on holiday, but this year is different because my husband and me now have a 7-month-old baby with us. We didn’t want to go on our usual holiday’s which involves taxi’s, airplanes and hotel’s in foreign countries, so opted for the homeland holiday, so this year where going to Cornwall.
Living in London we don’t get to see the country side much and when a friend suggested visiting Cornwall we decided this would be a perfect place to visit. With such a young family and the fact that Cornwall is only 5 hours away it wouldn’t be much of a problem with our little bundle of joy to get there without too much stress.
After searching the internet for places to stay we decided on the much reviewed and award winning holiday park the Perran Spring’s holiday park in Perranporth. After our 5 hour drive we arrived at the park and I was immediately impressed with Cornwall. In my naivety of being a city girl I didn’t even know places like this existed in England, for all I knew it was like we could have been in Tenerife, the sun was blazing and palm trees dotted the road side, and on the way to the holiday park we passed a magnificent beach which must have stretched miles. We will definitely be visiting there at some point.
Upon Arrival at the park we checked in to reception and was met by a lovely lady “welcome to Cornwall” she said. She then showed us to our holiday home, we went for the Lapwing premier caravan; it was huge (even bigger than our flat in London) with 2 bedrooms, a kitchen with all the mod cons, a toilet and a living room.
After we go settled we decided on a walk around the park, there were play areas for children, fishing lakes for the men, nature trails and much more. The park also had separate shower blocks, a laundrette and even it’s own little shop, but being a mother with a new born I was mightily impressed with the baby changing room , it was spotless, I think any mother would be impressed with it.
Well I must say we had a fantastic week in Perranporth there were so much to do and see, Perran Spring’s was just amazing. On our last night my husband and I sat down with a bottle wind and just couldn’t believe that this beautiful place called Cornwall is only 5 hours drive away we will be definately be coming on more holidays here in the future.
