How to Find The Perfect Family Dentist

From the moment that we come in to this world until the moment that we pass on, our teeth are a constant pain which we must deal with. OF course teeth don’t bother us all throughout our lives, but there are certain stages which means that our teeth need great care and attention, and this is why it is so important that we find a great family dentist, who can cater for the young and the old. I recently moved from Swansea to Cardiff and was forced to find a new dentist for the family. The range of dentist Cardiff has to offer is huge, so it wasn’t easy to find the right fit. After much trial and error, I managed to get the dentist that I was looking for, and here is how I find the clinic.

Online First

What you are going to be doing here is creating a very small list of dentists that you plan to try out, and the best place to start is online. Type in dentists near me in the search engine, and see which dentists come up, once you have a deeper look, check out what the reviews are like for each dentist, and remove any which do not have at least 4 stars.

Family and Friends

Next up you should have a quick chat with family and friends about which dentist they use, and what their experience was like. If someone speaks glowingly about a particular dentist, make sure that you add them to the list.

Making Appointments

One of the biggest issues that I have with many dental surgeries is the amount of time that it takes to get seen when you make an appointment. With this in mind I would recommend that you call all of the dentists on the list, and make an appointment for a check up and registration. If you are given a wait time of more than 10 days, I would cancel the appointment and scrub them off your list.

Suck it and See

Those who were able to give you an appointment within the 10 day period, they are the ones that you will be putting on trial. From the moment that you walk into the dentist you should be watching to see how you are being treated, what the place looks like and ultimately how comfortable you feel. During the check up don’t be frightened to ask the dentist different questions such as how long they have been in operation, how many dentists work there, and what they are like with nervous patients. These questions are going to help you too determine whether or not you will be returning, so ensure that you pay attention.

The key to finding a great family dentist is not only so that you are happy, but that all of the family are happy going to see the same dentist, follow these steps and you will be able to find the right dental surgery for you and your family.
